The NURVV Story

Imagine the scenario. You’ve just been on a run. You’re back at home, you’ve synced your watch with your phone and it’s downloading a wealth of data about your performance. You’ve got the usual distance, time and speed metrics but you might also have vertical oscillation, training stress score, intensity factor, fitness and freshness and a mass of other information - some of which you’ve heard of but don’t really understand. It’s all very interesting but you don’t know what to do with it and, more importantly, how to use it to get better.

Sound familiar?

Back in 2015 we were in the same boat.

Frustrated by the fact that no one seemed to be using data to actually help runners improve, beat their goals and minimize injury risk, we set about developing a solution to the problem of too much data and too few actionable insights.

From the very beginning of this journey we kept coming back to the same question:

“Why is running measured from the wrist, when most of the important metrics happen at the feet?”

This got us thinking. Was there a more accurate way to record running data? And could it provide us with a better understanding of how the body behaves during a run?

Driven by the idea we could revolutionize running by putting core biomechanical principles at the heart of our solution, we sought out the expertise to make it happen.

After 12 months of research & development a break through on a new sensor technology was created while biomechanical expertise was recruited from the top sport science universities in the UK.

With robust foundations laid, we set to work developing a new way of knowing more accurately about our bodies - unlocking data that would have historically only been available in running labs.

And once we got started, we couldn’t stop…

With access to the most useful and accurate running metrics available, we quickly moved onto the second part of the equation -  how do you take all the data and turn it into something that people can use to be a better runner?

Our team of biomechanists, engineers and athletes developed an intuitive coaching app to take the unique metrics and make sense of them, giving runners guidance on exactly how and where to improve their performance and technique.

After thousands of miles and hundreds of hours of testing, it became abundantly clear that the key to helping runners improve was in-run, live coaching, that would complement the data analysis that can happen before and after the run.

Investing heavily, we begun to develop the Nurvv run experience in order to give personalised live guidance on both technique and pace while running.

Today, NURVV Run is most sophisticated wearable running technology on the market. Not only does it capture metrics more accurately than a GPS watch, it takes the data, analyses it and provides runners of all types with the power to adjust performance when and where it counts - in real time, on the road.

Welcome to the running revolution. The question is? Have you got the NURVV?
